Hippie McHipster*

Why is it so hard for some people to realize that their own petty, insignificant, puny life’s pleasures are so ridiculously insignificant next to the grand scheme of things? We live in a culture of buy, buy, buy, spend, spend, spend. But what do we have in the end? Six feet of dirt over our heads (or a breeze to blow on if your like me and want to be cremated), and a world left a little shittier for our children.

Just like Joni Mitchell said over thirty years ago- “Take all the trees, put ’em in a tree museum. Charge the people a dollar and a half just to see ’em. Don’t it always seem to go, you don’t know what you’ve got ’till it’s gone. Pave paradise, put up a parking lot.”

Stupid fuckers! Wake up! Stop guzzling, chugging, slashing and burning! For Christ’s sake. If you won’t do it for you or me, do it for your kids. And their kids.
